PUBG released latest 7.2 Update for PC Live Servers. The update comes with a lot of changes; however, they introduce a brand new Ranked Mode which is most important.
PUBG 7.2 update also brings previously discussed two-factor authentication, but only for PC. 2FA will be required for players if they want to play Ranked matches. Also, as of now, Ranked mode is only live for PC servers and will be available for console platforms from May 26.
The Ranked matches will have 64 players in total, and the maps, Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok, will be selected randomly. Moreover, players in Ranked Mode will get their hands on the loot much faster than Normal matches. And Ranked Matches will have no bots and Redzone.
To be eligible to play Ranked Mode, players will have to reach a certain level in Survival Mastery. Two-factor-authentication with a phone number will be mandatory for Ranked Matches.
After the 7.2 Update, it will be much harder for cheaters to spoil the game for honest PUBG players. That is because if an SMS verified account is permanently banned, then the device linked with the account will also be permanently banned.
So, we can say that cheaters will have no real option to play against bots in Normal matches. Either that or they’ll risk getting their device getting banned & prohibited for all time from PUBG.
The 2FA is the best thing developers did to get rid of the Con Players to some extent and prevent the game from dying.
